We need to make decisions today that are informed by experience and data. Infrastructure matters, efficient public transportation matters, affordability matters, public safety matters. We need to prioritize what matters most and manage those priorities.

We are human and humans tend to plan as though things will be the same. We have a hard time seeing and paying for something that will happen in the future, even if it’s a certainty. The last decade has taught us that things will change and that we need to be prepared for those changes, many of which are a certainty.

We have a beautiful city that is at a tipping point. We have expensive capital projects; we have an aging population; we have a large deficit; we have an affordability issue; there is constant construction and disruption; and we have businesses that are leaving the City. We can address these issues and turn them around.
